Twins, Fish Pops, and a Valentine's Dance

High School Spirit Week
Posted on 02/20/2020

The Junior Class does it again! The Class of 2021 has won two years in a row for Spirit Week but not without some fierce competition. Each class had a chance to decorate doors throughout the hallways with whatever their creativity unleashed. This awarded them a minimum of 5 points per door with the possibility of many more if they could impress the judges. Dressing according to the theme for each day is a surefire way to gain points, and we saw lots of colorful hair-dos, twinning outfits, impressive hats and costumes, and dressed-to-the-nines, future professionals. And while the school days were full of clothing competitions, the after-school events brought the most heat. If a class showed up with the biggest crowd, they won 100 points towards their class. They could also win this amount by winning the event, which included dance-offs, karaoke, eating competitions (like fish cake pops), and relay races.

The week culminated in a Valentine’s Day Dance in the Middle School Cafeteria, decked with pink and red streamers, rope lights, and hearts. Besides dancing, there was a photo booth with props and games at each table. A few teachers even busted out some dance moves like Mr. Schultz with a split and Ms. Twigg with the electric slide.
